CommuteVibe Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

CommuteVibe ("the app", "we", "us") is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Summary

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything you do in CommuteVibe stays on your device.

Information We Do Not Collect

CommuteVibe does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit to us:

Your name, email address, or other identifiers

Your location data

Your music or podcast listening history

Your queue contents or commute settings

Analytics, crash reports, or device identifiers

What Stays on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your iPhone using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults). We have no access to it:

Saved commutes (home/work addresses, duration, transport mode)

Favorite artists, genres, podcasts, and listening preferences

Your built queues and listening history

App settings and toggles (e.g., "Include my library")

You can delete this information at any time by tapping the "Clear" buttons in the app, or by uninstalling the app from your device.

Apple Music & Location Access

CommuteVibe requests access to:

Apple Music — to build your queue from your library and the Apple Music catalog. All Apple Music requests are made directly through Apple's MusicKit framework. We do not see your subscription details, listening history, or library contents.

Location (While Using the App) — used only to set your starting point when configuring a commute. Your location is never sent anywhere outside the Apple Maps API and is not stored.

You can revoke either permission at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.

Third-Party Services

CommuteVibe uses these Apple-provided services for app functionality:

MusicKit — for Apple Music catalog access and playback

Apple iTunes Search API — for podcast metadata and artwork

Core Location — for setting commute starting points

These services are governed by Apple's own privacy policies. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

CommuteVibe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of CommuteVibe after changes means you accept the revised policy.
